Clearview Accessories has just released its new Power Boards for the current model Isuzu D-Max (MY21 on) & its DNA-sharing twin, the Mazda BT-50 (MY20 on)!

Clearview Power Boards are electric side steps that automatically lower to a more accessible height when the door is opened. When the door closes, the Power Board automatically retracts back to the body of the vehicle.

Clearview Power Boards are fitted under the vehicle, running along the length of the vehicle between the wheel arches on both the driver and passenger sides.

Do Power Boards reduce clearance?

No. Clearview Power Boards provide a safe stepping surface without sacrificing all-important clearance! When the door closes, the Power Board automatically tucks back into the body of the vehicle.

Weight/GVM is an important factor in any set-up, and the Clearview Power Slide’s aluminium extruded construction delivers the lightest slides available. Clearview Power Slide® models weigh between 29kg through to 38kg.

With a load rating of 180kg, the lightweight Clearview Power Slide® is designed to smoothly lower and raise a fully loaded fridge. Its unique scissor lift design is supported on each side by synchronized, self-aligning actuators, ensuring that the fridge always remains perfectly level.

The Clearview Power Slide® was the next logical innovation from the company behind the Clearview Easy Slide®, but its development wasn’t as simple as adding a set of electric actuators to the Easy Slide. Mike explains “We couldn’t just adapt the tried and tested Easy Slide design to create our Power Slide™. We had to completely redesign it to be able to offer what we have today; a superior drop-down fridge slide that is lighter, and even more convenient to use.”

How it works:

Simply unlock the travel lock mechanism, pull down on the yellow ergonomic slide quick-release runner levers and pull the fridge towards you to full extension.

Now the magic happens! Lower and raise your fridge with the press of a button for convenient access to its contents!

Time flies. Whether you’re thinking of easing off the throttle a bit and taking life easy or wondering if you’ve reached the pinnacle of your profession, it probably only seems like yesterday you were ‘starting off’. It’s something Clearview Accessories’ Mike Cowan can relate to when he thinks back to how his incredibly successful off-road aftermarket accessories business started. And it was all because he couldn’t see what he needed to see …

Inspiration from frustration

It was the early 2000s when Mike Cowan first thought of what would become the success that is Clearview Accessories and, unsurprisingly, it was while he was towing a caravan behind his then-tourer, a LandCruiser 80 Series, which had the misfortune of following on from his previous tow-rig, a monster Ford F-350. You see (excuse the pun), the big Effy’s bulk meant it had, fitted to it, rear-view mirrors that were fit for purpose, when it comes to rearward vision. Something the otherwise impressive 80 Series lacked.

“It was frustration, really,” Mike recounts. “I have a background in towing, and I had been towing for a long time. I had an F-350 before the Toyota; it was a big American truck, and it had really good mirrors on it. Then when I bought my 80 Series, I’d hook my caravan up and drive out the front gate and all I could see was caravan.”

This situation led to some thinking for Mike, who resolved to try and replicate what he’d experienced with the Ford’s more effective mirrors. To this end, he imported a set of Silverado mirrors from the USA and fitted them to his 80 Series. The results were excellent – as was the attention from fellow towing enthusiasts.
