Tow Mirrors for the Hilux include the Next Gen, Compact, and Original models. These mirrors are designed as true replacements for your OE mirrors, using the same holes, fittings, and wiring (where applicable) for a seamless plug-and-play installation.
Our three mirror types can be extended when towing and retracted when not in use. Built to be stable and tough, they won’t retract at high speeds or when passing large trucks.
Colour-coded options are available for the Next Gen and Compact mirrors, but they need to be painted by a third-party automotive paint shop at an additional cost.
CAT 6 LED indicators are available for the N70 Hilux mirrors to meet ADR 6/00 requirements.
All standard functionalities of the OE N70 Hilux mirrors are retained in our extendable mirrors.
Tow Mirrors with Indicators for the N70 – Lights located on the side of the Mirror that will flash to signal your intentions to swap lanes or turn. Our Tow Mirrors include a clear indicator lens with an amber LED light. Indicators in all manufactured mirrors come with a CAT5 indicator as standard.
Tow Mirrors with Electric Mirror Glass Adjustment for the Hilux – Electrical Vertical and Horizontal adjustments to suit your preferred driving angles. Clearview supports this feature throughout our range. Single Mirror models can offer electric adjustments of the mirror. The double mirror models can only offer top glass mirror electric adjustments, the lower bottom glass is a manual adjustment.
A Manual Mirror Glass Adjustment option is also available for N70 models without Electric Mirror Adjustment as standard. Manual Mirror Glass Adjustment refers to the use of your fingers to manually adjust your mirror glass to your preferred position, horizontally and vertically.
All these features are only available for those vehicles that contain these pre-existing features such as Indicators and Electric – The Mirror alone cannot add new functionality to the vehicle.
Which Clearview Mirror is better? It ultimately comes down to personal preference, as there is no definitive right or wrong choice.
Compact vs. Next Gen Mirror: The Compact and Next Gen mirrors generally differ by only 57mm in height and 2mm in width. The front face of the mirror is where the aesthetics really start to differ.
Usage Recommendations: Both mirrors are suitable for most situations. However, we recommend the Next Gen Towing Mirrors for those who frequently tow boats, large caravans, or similar items. The larger size of the Next Gen provides additional visibility that the Compact’s smaller design cannot offer.
Twin Mirror Design: This design features a large flat upper glass that reflects true distance and a lower convex glass that offers a wide field of vision, making it an excellent choice.
Single Mirror Model: This model includes a large convex mirror that reduces the size of reflected objects, providing a wide field of vision similar to an OE mirror, but with the added benefit of extra visibility.
