Welder 

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Welder to join our team! As our Welder, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facility. You will be working with the latest designs and equipment to put together mechanical parts with a great deal of precision.

We’re seeking a hardworking professional who likes meeting challenges and surpassing expectations. Your chief responsibilities will include interpreting designs, welding as required, and assessing welded components.

To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of differing types of welding equipment. The successful candidate will also have a steady hand and outstanding attention to detail.

Welder duties and responsibilities

  • As a certified and skilled Welder, can read and interpret technical blueprints and designs relevant to the manufacturing process used by the company.
  • Ability to apply information from blueprints and designs to welding requirements and execute flawlessly.
  • Ability to lead, coach, develop and mentor assigned personnel in learning the requirements of welding and assist their knowledge acquisition in the trade of welding.
  • Use welding and fabrication techniques to create metal components and structures of high quality in line with the ISO9001 manufacturing standards of the company.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Use various tools to shape, join, and manipulate metal materials.
  • Inspect welded joints for quality and adhere to standards by self and others.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, tracking defects, and reporting same.
  • Perform basic repairs on welding/fabrication equipment as needed.
  • Set up welding equipment and adjust welding parameters as needed by the business.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and advise ways that relevant updates may benefit the Company.
  • Obtaining amperage and voltage required by engineers, starting power supply, joining edges of work piece, examining weld for bead size, repairing broken parts, assembling work pieces together, and cutting metal plates.
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping of the workshop and machines used in Welding.
  • Use hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld together metal components and parts or to cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layouts, work orders, or blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols by wearing protective gloves, masks, and boots.
  • Have good hand-eye coordination.

Welder requirements and qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as welder with 5+ years of experience using a variety of welding equipment, machinery, and procedures (TIG, MMA, Oxy Fuel, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in using electrical and manual tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Good knowledge of and adherence to safety standards
  • Critical thinker with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good time-management skills
  • Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful completion of a Certification program, e.g. Certificate III or better, is required.

Wage base set to Wage Group C10 of the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 [MA000010] however Salary range is $70,000-$75,000pa plus super depending on experience.

Assembly Line Worker

You will be working within a team to assist in the assembly of Clearview Towing Mirrors. Your work will include but not be limited to:

  • Repetitive manual handling of various size components
  • Assembling of components for Clearview Towing Mirrors
  • Use of hand and potentially power tools
  • Be able to work independently and with a small team

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a team player
  • Have a good eye for detail
  • Be punctual and have a positive attitude
  • Have own reliable transport
  • Previous experience on an assembly line would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

Experience in 4WD accessory fitting is also considered an advantage.

This role will commence ASAP for the right person. Junior and retiree applications welcomed!
