Towing Mirrors
No product exists for this selection, please choose a different combination of attributes.
*Please note that mirror features specified in the above mirror descriptions are the only features included in the mirror. Any features not specified are not included in the Towing Mirror.
Towing mirror features are only available for vehicles with those pre-existing features as standard (ie electric, powerfold) – the mirror alone cannot add new functionality to the vehicle. Available upgrade options for the LC70 models will result in additional costs around hard wiring the functionality into the vehicle. Clearview does provide the wiring harnesses and switches with our mirrors to help reduce installation time.
To remain ADR compliant, if your standard mirrors have Indicators in them, then your towing mirrors also need to have indicators.
Clearview Towing mirrors do not extend or retract electrically.
Classic Towing Mirrors
Very large top mirror 1:1 ratio. This large, flat mirror reflects true distance for reversing. The smaller, convex mirror allows the driver to have a much wider field view and diminishes blind spots.
Compact Towing Mirrors
Compact Towing Mirrors are just like a factory Mirror, with the additional advantage of the extra visibility that our towing mirror extension provides.
A large convex* single mirror reduces the objects that it reflects, allowing the driver to have a much wider field view and diminishing blind spots.
*For the newest Toyota MY24 LC76, LC78 & LC79 Series, our special edition Clearview Compact Towing Mirrors ensure compliance with ADR standards. Featuring a single, flat mirror on the driver’s side, and a single convex mirror on the passenger’s side, these mirrors maintain their good looks whilst complying with the ADRs.
Next Gen Towing Mirrors
The Next Gen’s dual mirror design provides the best of both worlds; a large flat top mirror helps with reversing into parking spaces or aligning a hitch with a trailer, and the smaller convex mirror provides a better understanding of what’s happening around the vehicle.
Clearview Towing Mirror Features
The existing positions of the mirror mounting holes on the doors of the LC79 vary as the standard mirrors are installed after the vehicle lands in Australia. When the factory mirror is removed, it leaves two holes in the side of the door panel. Our Clearview Towing Mirror base mounts onto these same holes, but due to their varying positions on individual vehicles, our mounting holes are elongated to allow for the variance. This can also mean that the overall position of the mirror on the door can be different by vehicle.
If you’re comparing the Classic Towing Mirror base with the Compact and Next Gen 70 Series Towing Mirrors, here’s what you need to know:
The Classic Towing Mirror base features a rectangular design that suits the larger mirror. This is different from the “hourglass” shape found on the Compact and Next Gen 70 Series Towing Mirror bases, which have a more slimline, contoured aesthetic.
While these differences are visual, they reflect the distinct design preferences tailored for your Toyota 70 Series Mirrors. Whether you favour the streamlined curves of the hourglass shape or the bold simplicity of the Classic rectangular base, each is designed to suit the unique aesthetics of your preferred Towing Mirror.
The Toyota MY24 LC76, LC78 & LC79 Series vehicles (Sept 2023 – current) are now a different Vehicle Category to prior years. These MY24 models have a GVM of 3510kg and are classified as Category NB Vehicles.
How does this classification change impact on towing mirrors for these NB vehicles?
Flat Mirror Glass:
This NB Vehicle Category change has resulted in the requirement for a flat mirror glass on the Driver’s side mirror to ensure compliance with ADR 14/02 for the LC76, LC78 & LC79 Series.
Whilst this has had no impact on our Next Gen Towing Mirrors, special Clearview Compact Towing Mirrors have been added to our range which include a convex mirror on the passenger side and a flat mirror on the Driver’s side mirror.
Indicators:
Where a mandatory CAT6 Turn Signal is fitted to the guard, as is the case for all MY24 LC70 Series vehicles, then if a Turn Signal is fitted in the mirror, it must be disabled.
Therefore, Clearview Towing Mirror Indicator Options are not available for the MY24 LC70 Series as mandatory CAT6 Turn Signals are already added on front RH & LH fenders to comply with ADR 13/00 and ADR 6/00.
Common Features of Clearview Compact and Next Gen Mirrors
Both models share some standout features that make them the best Tow Mirror options:
Compact Towing Mirrors
The Compact Mirrors are designed to resemble your factory mirrors while offering improved functionality for towing. Their single convex* mirror caters to those who prefer simplicity and a seamless factory aesthetic.
Single Convex* Mirror Design
The Compact features a large convex mirror that minimises blind spots and offers a wider viewing angle. It reduces the size of reflected objects, giving you a better view of your surroundings.
Streamlined Look
Designed to look like your factory mirrors, these are perfect for everyday use as well as towing, while keeping a discreet profile.
Ideal For
Drivers who want subtle aesthetics resembling their factory mirrors.
Next Gen Towing Mirrors
Taking functionality to the next level, the Next Gen Mirrors feature a dual mirror setup that provides enhanced visibility through a combination of flat and convex mirrors.
Dual Mirror Design
The large flat top mirror offers a 1:1 reflection – perfect for reversing and accurate distance judgment. The smaller convex mirror underneath provides an expanded field of view, reducing blind spots and helping you track vehicles in adjacent lanes.
Customisable Mirror Glass Options
The top glass comes standard with a flat 1:1 ratio but can be replaced with convex glass for users who prefer consistent visibility across both mirrors.
Ideal For
Drivers who need precise visibility for reversing, hitching, or towing heavy loads.
Those who prefer a slightly larger mirror design with added functionality.

Original Towing Mirrors
The term Power Fold is a feature within a vehicle’s side mirror, which allows the side mirrors to electrically fold in towards the body of the vehicle, and electrically fold out.
The Power Folding functionality is useful when parking in tight spaces, protecting the mirrors from being clipped by passing vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians. It’s also great when 4WDing to get you out of a tight spot!
The mirror is designed to electrically fold towards the body of the vehicle and fold back out again when the vehicle is locked/unlocked via:
Power Fold Towing Mirrors on vehicles with proximity locking will also fold in when the vehicle automatically locks.
All vehicles are different and therefore the functionality of your new Clearview Power Fold Towing Mirrors will “mirror” the standard functionality of your original factory mirrors. Power Fold functionality is only available for vehicles with pre-existing factory electric folding mirrors. Clearview Mirrors cannot add functionality to a vehicle that didn’t have the functionality to start with. For specific information on your vehicle, refer to your Owner’s Manual.
*Options may vary depending on make, model and year of vehicle. Clearview Towing mirrors do not extend or retract electrically.
Whilst Clearview Power Fold Towing Mirrors are motorised, allowing them to fold or unfold at the press of a button, non-Power Fold Towing Mirrors are also available for most models.
When it comes to choosing the best mirrors for your vehicle, particularly for off-road and towing purposes, Clearview towing mirrors remain the most popular options on the market. What sets Clearview mirrors apart and why are they the better choice?
We recommend that you keep your original factory mirrors as back up should something happen to one of your Clearview Mirrors, necessitating the need to return it to us for repairs.
This will allow your vehicle to remain roadworthy whilst waiting on your repaired Clearview mirror.
Regular routine maintenance will help to ensure continued smooth operation and longevity of your Clearview Towing Mirrors.
Maintenance information can also be found in the Installation Instructions booklet provided with the towing mirrors.
