Mirror Dilemma: Single Mirror or Twin?

Clearview Extendable Towing Mirrors are designed to provide the extra visibility needed to ensure that you reach your destination safely. Clearview Accessories has been manufacturing towing mirrors in Australia since 2006, and today, has three different extendable towing mirror styles available; Clearview Compact Towing Mirrors which feature a large single mirror, and Clearview Next Gen and Original Towing Mirrors, which feature Clearview’s famous twin mirror design.

This begs the question: should you opt for a single mirror or a twin mirror setup?

Compact Towing Mirrors: Simplicity and Effectiveness
Compact Towing Mirrors are just like factory mirrors but with the added benefit of the additional visibility that Clearview’s towing mirror extension provides. They feature a large convex single mirror that reduces the size of the reflected objects, offering a wider field of view and minimising blind spots.
Ideal For:
• Vehicles with large canopies
• Towing smaller vans, tinnies, jet skis, box trailers, and camper trailers
Key Features:
• Large convex single mirror for a wider field of view
• Looks like a standard factory mirror with the added advantage of the towing extension.

Next Gen Towing Mirrors: Twin Mirror Design for Maximum Visibility
Next Gen Towing Mirrors take it a step further with their twin mirror design, making them suitable for towing anything from the smallest trailers to the largest vans.
Large Top 1:1 Ratio Mirror: This large flat top mirror provides users with a more accurate and realistic vision, reflecting true distances for precise reversing. It offers an exact replication of what’s happening behind you.
Smaller Bottom Convex Mirror: This slightly curved mirror makes objects appear further away, offering a much wider field of view and diminishing blind spots. It helps you better understand what’s happening around your vehicle.
Ideal For:
• Regularly towing larger vans, trailers and horse floats
Key Features:
• Dual mirror design provides the best of both worlds; a large flat top mirror helps with reversing into parking spaces or aligning a hitch with a trailer, and the smaller convex mirror provides a better understanding of what’s happening around the vehicle.

Shared Features:
Both Compact and Next Gen Towing Mirrors feature the following:
• Extend up to 180mm and retract to a factory profile.
• Maintain the standard size and driving position of factory mirrors.
• Engineered to retain most of the original mirror functionalities, including advanced tech like 360-degree Camera integration, auto-tilting function when reversing, memory adjustment, power-fold, and blind spot monitoring.
• Telescopic 2-stage extension providing three towing positions.
• Sturdy double arm design provides superior stability and adjustability and won’t retract at high speeds.
• Available in black, chrome, and raw finishes
• Supported by a comprehensive range of spare parts, ensuring minimal downtime and cost-effective repairs – because accidents happen!

While both Compact and Next Gen Towing Mirrors offer significant improvements in visibility and safety, the choice between single or twin mirrors depends on your specific towing needs and preferences.
