Clearview Swing Boards: Swing Into the Future of Vehicle Access.

For many 4×4 owners, modifying a vehicle creates a common paradox: you increase ground clearance for better off-road performance, but you simultaneously make the vehicle harder to live with daily. Getting into a lifted ute or a large SUV isn’t always graceful. While traditional side steps or rock sliders offer a solution, they often reduce the very clearance you fought to gain, or they sit awkwardly high, acting more like a balance beam than a step.
Clearview Accessories has introduced a solution that bridges the gap between rugged functionality and premium comfort. The new Clearview Swing Boards represent the next evolution in vehicle access, redefining the electric side step market with a new design that prioritises natural movement and safety.

Traditional electric side steps have been around for years, with a vertical drop that can often place the step too close to the vehicle body. This forces the passenger to step awkwardly close to the sill, often twisting their knee or ankle to hoist themselves inside.
Clearview Swing Boards take a different approach. Instead of merely dropping straight down, these boards utilise an innovative “swing” motion. When the door sensor triggers the mechanism, the board swings outward and lowers into position simultaneously.
This arced movement places the step further away from the vehicle body, creating a true “staircase” effect rather than a ladder-climb sensation. By positioning the stepping platform further out, the board meets your foot where it naturally falls, allowing for a fluid, forward-momentum entry into the cabin.

The primary advantage of the Swing Board design is ergonomic comfort.  Climbing into a large SUV like the Toyota Prado 250 Series can strain the hips and knees, especially for children, the elderly, or anyone with mobility challenges. The Swing Boards lower to an accessible height – dropping 80mm downwards – while swinging out to provide a wide, unrestricted platform. This geometry significantly reduces the physical effort required to enter the vehicle.  The boards themselves are substantial, measuring 150mm in width and 1485mm in length. This generous surface area provides confident footing, even for those wearing heavy work boots or hiking gear.

One of the standout specifications of the new Swing Boards is their strength. Each step boasts a massive 300kg load capacity. This ensures that the boards remain stable and secure even when supporting fully geared-up passengers or heavy equipment loading.

IP68 Rated Motors: The heart of any electric step is the motor. If water gets in, the step fails. The Clearview Swing Boards’ IP68-rated motors indicates that the motors are dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water beyond 1 meter.

What happens if the step deploys while an obstacle is in the way? Clearview has integrated a safety cut-off feature into the Swing Board system. The board utilises sensitive resistance detection. If the step encounters an obstruction – whether it’s a rock, or a person’s leg, or a child’s arm – during its closing cycle, it instantly holds its position. This prevents damage to the motor, damage to the vehicle, and, most importantly, injury to the user.

Modern 4x4s, particularly the new Toyota Prado 250 Series, are designed with sleek lines and aerodynamic profiles. Bolt-on accessories can sometimes look out of place, disrupting the vehicle’s visual flow.
Clearview Swing Boards are designed to blend in when not in use. When the door closes, the board automatically retracts, tucking away cleanly against the body of the vehicle. This preserves the vehicle’s ground clearance – crucial for off-roading – and maintains the factory aesthetic. When retracted, they blend so seamlessly that they look like a factory-installed feature rather than an aftermarket add-on.

No-Drill Installation: For vehicle owners concerned about corrosion or structural integrity, the installation process is a major plus. The Swing Boards are designed to mount directly into existing factory holes. There is no need to drill new holes into the chassis or bodywork. This non-invasive installation method preserves the vehicle’s resale value and structural warranties. Each side is supported by two strong mounting brackets, ensuring rigidity and long-term durability without altering the vehicle’s frame.

Clearview Swing Boards are available exclusively through authorised Clearview dealers. To see the Swing Boards in action or to arrange a fitting for your Toyota Prado, visit your local dealer today.

NEW! Clearview RAM 1500 DT Towing Mirrors Now Available

The RAM 1500 DT has redefined what we expect from a full-size ute. It combines raw power (and good looks!) with a level of interior luxury and technological sophistication usually reserved for premium SUVs.
However, for drivers in right-hand drive (RHD) markets, there has been one lingering issue that compromises the driving experience: visibility.
We’re excited to announce the official launch of the Clearview RAM 1500 DT Towing Mirrors! Specifically engineered for RHD vehicles, these mirrors solve the critical visibility problems inherent in imported trucks while offering the seamless, factory-finish look you expect for your high-end vehicle.
The “Problem” with Right-Hand Drive
If you own a RAM 1500 DT, you might have already noticed a quirk with your standard factory mirrors. While the Australian Spec RAM 1500 DT undergoes an extensive conversion from left-hand drive to right-hand drive – including repositioning the steering wheel and controls – the mirrors typically do not receive the same attention. As a result, they retain their original left-hand drive geometry, which does not provide the optimal viewing angles for drivers seated on the right side.
This might sound like a minor detail, but on the road, it creates significant safety hazards. Standard imported mirrors often cannot be adjusted far enough to provide a correct viewing angle for an RHD driver.
The Driver’s Side: Even at max adjustment, the mirror often shows too much of the side of your own vehicle and not enough of the lane next to you.
The Passenger Side: Conversely, this mirror often shows too much road and not enough of the vehicle’s side, making parking and manoeuvring difficult.

This mismatch creates dangerous blind spots and forces drivers to lean awkwardly to check lanes – something no one wants to do when towing a three-ton caravan.
Our new Clearview RAM 1500 DT Towing Mirrors are built from the ground up specifically for RHD vehicles. We have corrected the mounting angles to ensure the mirror sits in the perfect position relative to the driver.
This means you get full adjustability and the correct field of view without straining your neck. Whether you are merging onto a highway or backing a boat into a tight slip, you will have the visibility you need to do it safely.
This isn’t just a towing upgrade; it is a crucial safety upgrade for everyday driving.

When you upgrade a RAM 1500 DT, you don’t want bolt-on accessories that look out of place. You want modifications that look like they rolled off the assembly line with the truck.
Our Clearview Towing Mirrors are a “Plug & Play” fitment that respects the truck’s existing lines and technology.
Key Features Include:
RHD Specific Geometry: Optimised angles for perfect viewing from the right-hand driver’s seat.
Plug & Play Installation: Designed to connect directly to your vehicle’s existing wiring harnesses, retaining factory functionality where applicable.
Telescopic Extension: The mirrors pull out to provide the extra width needed when towing wide loads, and push back in for daily driving.

We understand that every driver has different needs and aesthetic preferences. That is why we are launching the RAM 1500 DT mirrors in two distinct designs: Next Gen and Compact.

The Next Gen Towing Mirror

The Next Gen Towing Mirror is our premium offering, combining a large, split-mirror design with a sleek profile. It features a large flat top mirror for true distance viewing and a smaller convex bottom mirror to help alleviate blind spots. It is strong, functional, and built for serious towing.

The Compact Towing Mirror

For those who want towing capability without the bulk, the Compact Towing Mirror is the answer. It features a single, large convex mirror glass similar to a standard car mirror but with the telescopic ability to extend when needed.
Both designs share a “discreet” philosophy. When retracted, they sit much closer to the vehicle body than traditional towing mirrors. In fact, most people won’t even realise you have towing mirrors installed until you extend them for your next trip.

The RAM 1500 DT is a vehicle that demands confidence. It is big, powerful, and capable. But power without visibility is dangerous.
By upgrading to Clearview Towing Mirrors, you aren’t just buying an accessory; you are unlocking the full potential of your truck. You can finally utilise that impressive towing capacity without the stress of not seeing what is behind you. You can change lanes knowing exactly what is in your blind spot.

It is time to say goodbye to awkward angles and compromised views.
Ready to Upgrade?
The Clearview RAM 1500 DT Towing Mirrors are available now. Whether you plan to tow a caravan around Australia, tow a large boat to the slipway, or simply want to fix the viewing angles on your daily drive, this is the upgrade your RAM has been waiting for.
Avoid ordering the wrong mirrors – use our mirror filter to find the right mirrors for your RAM! Drive with the confidence that comes from having a Clear View.

2026 Towing Mirrors Buyer’s Guide

Towing Mirrors Buyer’s Guide: Towing a caravan, boat, or trailer opens up a world of adventure. But safe towing demands more than just a powerful vehicle and a sturdy hitch; it requires clear, unobstructed vision. Enter towing mirrors – not just an accessory, but a legal requirement and a critical safety component. Over the years, these essential tools have evolved from simple designs to sophisticated, integrated systems. So, what defines a great towing mirror in 2026?

The history of towing mirrors mirrors the growth of recreational and commercial towing itself. In the early days, options were limited. Clearview invented the first Towing Mirrors in 2006! Their Clearview Original Towing Mirrors were fairly basic, reflecting the simpler technology of earlier tow vehicles.

Towing Mirrors Buyer's Guide

As vehicles and trailers grew larger and more advanced, the need for better visibility and improved functionality became more important. This increasing demand drove the introduction of clip-on and strap-on designs that didn’t require integrated functionality, but they often felt like an afterthought – a temporary fix rather than a permanent, reliable solution.

Universal Add-Ons vs. Full Replacements: The Great Debate

When choosing towing mirrors, you have two main options: universal add-on mirrors or full replacement mirrors. Understanding the differences is key to making the right choice for your safety and towing experience.

Towing Mirrors Buyer’s Guide: Universal Add-On Mirrors

Towing Mirrors Buyer's Guide

Universal add-ons, often called “clip-on” or “strap-on” mirrors, attach to your vehicle’s existing factory mirrors. They are a popular entry-level choice for a few reasons.

Pros:

  • Affordability: They are typically the cheapest option available.
  • Transferability: You can often move them from one vehicle to another, provided the factory mirrors are a similar shape.
  • Easy Installation: Most can be attached and removed in minutes without tools.

Cons:

  • Vibration: Their biggest flaw is instability. At highway speeds or on rough roads, they tend to vibrate, blurring your rear view and contributing to driver fatigue.
  • Limited Field of View: They often provide a smaller mirror surface and a less effective extension compared to replacement models.
  • Aesthetics: Let’s be honest – they can look clunky and out of place on a modern vehicle.
  • Risk of Damage: Improperly fitted add-ons can scratch or damage your factory mirrors and can also damage your vehicle if they fall off.
  • Risk of Theft: They are generally easy to steal by opportunistic thieves when parked.

These mirrors can be suitable for occasional, short-distance towing. However, for regular towing, their limitations quickly become apparent.

Towing Mirrors Buyer’s Guide: Full Replacement Mirrors

Full replacement towing mirrors completely replace your vehicle’s standard side mirrors. They are custom-made for specific makes and models, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless integration.

Pros:

  • Superior Stability: Because they are bolted directly to the door in the same way as the factory mirrors, they are exceptionally stable. This eliminates the annoying and dangerous vibrations common with add-ons.
  • Wider, Clearer View: Replacement mirrors feature larger glass surfaces, with the option of a dual-mirror design – often a large flat mirror for reversing and accurate distance judgment, and a smaller convex mirror to reduce blind spots.
  • Integrated Features: They integrate with your vehicle’s existing electronics, so you don’t lose features like electric adjustment, indicators, heating, or blind-spot monitoring.
  • Durability and Design: Built for the long haul, they are constructed from high-quality materials and designed to look like a factory-fitted part, enhancing your vehicle’s appearance.

Cons:

  • Higher Initial Cost: They represent a more significant upfront investment than universal mirrors.
  • Permanent Installation: While not difficult to install, they are intended to be a permanent fixture on your vehicle.

For frequent towers, the benefits of full replacement mirrors far outweigh the initial cost. The improvement in safety, convenience, and peace of mind is immeasurable.

Towing Mirrors Buyer’s Guide: What Makes a Great Towing Mirror in 2026?

As technology advances, so do expectations for our gear. A great towing mirror today is more than just a piece of reflective glass; it’s an integrated safety system.

Key Features:

  • Extendable Design: The ability to easily slide the mirror outwards for towing and retract it for daily driving is essential.
  • Rock-Solid Stability: Advanced engineering and solid mounting are crucial to eliminate vibration and provide a crystal-clear image, regardless of the terrain.
  • OEM Integration: A top-tier mirror should seamlessly connect with your vehicle’s factory functions, from power-folding to integrated puddle lights and cameras.
  • Durable Construction: It must be built to withstand all that our corrugated outback roads can throw at it, whether in the extended or retracted position.

The Clearview Difference: Engineering the Ultimate Towing Mirror

Clearview Accessories has become the benchmark for quality in the towing mirror market by focusing on all these critical features and more.

What Sets Clearview Apart:

  • Extendable and Retractable: Our Next Gen and Compact mirrors extend a full 180mm to provide a wide field of view past your trailer and retract into a compact position for everyday driving. (Classic Towing Mirrors extend up to 103mm)
  • Twin-Mirror Design: Our Next Gen and Classic Towing Mirrors offer a large, flat top mirror for a clear, accurate view of what’s behind you, plus a smaller convex mirror underneath to reduce blind spots.
  • Single-Mirror Design: Our Compact Towing Mirrors are just like a standard mirror, with the additional advantage of the extra visibility that our towing mirror extension provides. A large convex single mirror reduces the objects that it reflects, allowing the driver to have a much wider field view and diminishing blind spots.
  • Unmatched Stability: Clearview’s Double Arm Design provides superior stability, minimising vibrations even at high speeds or on the toughest corrugated roads.
  • Seamless Integration: Whether your vehicle has electric adjustment, indicators, heating, or 360-degree cameras, our mirrors are designed to retain full functionality. They look and work like they were installed at the factory.
  • Built to Last: Every Clearview mirror is designed, tested and made in Australia for Australian conditions. They are tough, reliable, and backed by a comprehensive range of spare parts to repair it quickly and get back on the road again.

Invest in Your Safety and Peace of Mind

The evolution of the towing mirror shows a clear path from basic mirror to integrated safety solutions. While universal add-ons have their place, they cannot match the stability, visibility, and peace of mind offered by a premium full replacement system.

In 2026, a great towing mirror is one you can install and trust completely. It should enhance your vehicle, integrate with its features, and, most importantly, provide a clear, stable view that makes every journey safer.

Ready to see the difference for yourself? Don’t let poor visibility compromise your next adventure. Explore Clearview Accessories’ extensive range of towing mirrors and find the perfect, purpose-built solution for your vehicle.

Introducing Clearview Power Boards

Clearview Power Boards are automatic, retractable side steps that offer the perfect blend of convenience and style. Designed specifically for the Volkswagen Amarok NF, these electric side steps provide effortless vehicle entry and exit, making them a must-have upgrade for any 4×4 owner.

How Do the Amarok Power Boards Work?

Clearview Power Boards are electrically-powered side steps that automatically deploy when you open a door, and retract when you close it. Designed to make vehicle entry and exiting easier, these Amarok Side Steps offer a sleek, low-profile look, whilst still providing a sturdy and functional stepping platform.

Why Choose Power Boards for Your Volkswagen Amarok NF?

1. Improved Accessibility

The Volkswagen Amarok NF sits high off the ground, making access difficult for children, elderly passengers, or those with mobility concerns. Clearview Power Boards automatically lower when a door opens, providing a comfortable stepping height of up to 300mm*. This makes entering and exiting your vehicle completely effortless.

2. Heavy-Duty Durability

Built to last, Clearview Power Boards are made from high-strength materials with a textured, non-slip surface. These electric side steps support up to 300kg per side, making them perfect for everyday use—whether in the city or off-road.

3. Sleek Design

Traditional side steps can reduce ground clearance and often sit too close to the vehicle sill, making it difficult to step in comfortably. Clearview Power Boards, however, retract neatly underneath your Amarok NF when not in use. This preserves your ute’s seek and streamlined appearance and ensures maximum ground clearance when tackling tough terrain.

4. Enhanced Safety Features

Built-in Safety Sensors: Power Boards automatically stop if they detect an obstruction, ensuring safe operation for all passengers.

Enhanced Grip: The step surface provides extra traction, reducing the risk of slips.

5. Vehicle Compatibility

Clearview Power Boards are specifically designed for the Volkswagen Amarok NF and integrate seamlessly with the vehicle’s wiring and door sensors. No drilling is required, ensuring a hassle-free installation.

Perfect for Work and Play

Whether you’re a tradie needing easy access to your ute, an off-road adventurer tackling rugged terrain, or a family driver looking for added convenience, Clearview Power Boards are the perfect upgrade for your Volkswagen Amarok NF.

The Best Towing Mirrors for Jet Ski Enthusiasts

If you love hitting the water on the weekend with your jet ski, having the right towing setup is essential—not just for safety but for a hassle-free experience on the road. One often-overlooked aspect of towing is having the right mirrors. Clearview Towing Mirrors provide the ultimate solution, giving you better vision, enhanced safety, and seamless daily driving usability. Whether you’re backing down a ramp, navigating tight roads, or cruising the highway, Clearview has a mirror to suit your needs.

Why Clearview Towing Mirrors?

When towing a jet ski, standard factory mirrors often don’t provide the width and vision required for safe manoeuvring. Clearview Towing Mirrors extend outward for an improved field of view, helping you keep an eye on your trailer, blind spots, and other vehicles. With three models available—Original, Next Gen, and Compact—you can find the perfect towing mirror to match your lifestyle. And the best part? They’re designed for everyday driving too, meaning you don’t have to swap mirrors when you’re not towing!

Clearview Towing Mirror Options for Jet Ski Towing:

The Original Towing Mirror

The Original Towing Mirrors feature a dual-mirror design with a large flat top mirror (1:1 ratio) that provides a true-distance reflection, ideal for reversing and giving an exact view of the surroundings. The smaller bottom mirror is convex, offering a wider field of view to reduce blind spots.

With two driving positionsNon-Extended Standard Driving Position and Fully Extended Towing Position—these mirrors can extend up to 103mm, making them perfect for towing jet ski trailers, boats, and more.

The Original Towing Mirrors are available in Chrome and Black, ensuring a sleek, durable look that complements your vehicle.

The Next Gen Towing Mirrors

The Next Gen Towing Mirrors also feature a dual-mirror design but with a slightly more smaller profile than the Originals. They’re perfect for daily driving while still offering the extension needed for towing everything from jet ski trailers to large caravans.

Like the Original, the large flat top mirror provides a 1:1 reflection for accurate reversing, while the lower convex glass gives a wider field of vision, reducing blind spots.

With three driving positionsNon-Extended Driving Position, Extended Towing Position, and Fully Extended Towing Position—you get up to 180mm of extension, giving you superior visibility when towing.

The Next Gen Towing Mirrors come in Chrome, Black, and a Raw finish for custom painting, ensuring they blend seamlessly with your vehicle’s style.

The Compact Towing Mirrors

The Compact Towing Mirrors are a single-glass design with a smaller profile than the Next Gens. This mirror features a large convex mirror, which reduces the size of reflected objects, providing a much wider field of view and minimising blind spots. This option is excellent for those needing visibility past their canopy or towing jet skis and tinnies.

With three driving positions—Non-Extended Driving Position, Extended Towing Position, and Fully Extended Towing Position—you can achieve up to 180mm of extension for towing from its first standard position.

Available in Black, Chrome and a Raw Finish for custom painting.

Built for Towing and for Daily Driving

One of the biggest advantages of Clearview Towing Mirrors is that they’re not just for towing. They also provide enhanced visibility for seeing past your canopy or wagon, making them a valuable upgrade for any driver. Unlike clip-on or strap-on mirrors that must be removed when not in use, Clearview Mirrors are built for everyday driving, thanks to their standard driving position. Once you’ve unhooked your trailer, simply push them back in, and you’re ready to go. Whether you’re towing your jet ski on the weekend or commuting to work during the week, your mirrors will always provide a seamless driving experience.

Upgrade Your Towing Experience

No matter how often you tow your jet ski, having the right mirrors makes a huge difference. Clearview Towing Mirrors give you better vision, safer towing, and a premium driving experience every day of the week.
