The Innovation You Can’t Afford to Overlook
Importance of our patented, secondary mount design
When the time came to design our new LC300 Towing mirrors, we decided to start from scratch! By doing so, we were able to look past the existing factory mounting point and develop a product that far surpassed any expectations on what a Towing Mirror could do!
Our unique secondary mount design accounts for the 300 Series’ lightweight aluminum door skin and provides multiple secure and sturdy attachment points for our mirrors. This ensures that the mirrors stay in place without damaging the aluminium door skin, no matter the terrain or towing conditions, giving you the peace of mind to focus on your journey.
Our complete redesign of the LandCruiser 300 Series side mirror mounting position allowed us to identify the optimum location for the new Towing Mirrors to be installed to provide the best visibility when in the extended towing position.
We needed to move the standard mounting point forward to make it easier to see out of while towing. If we’d simply reinforced the existing mounting point and installed our mirrors there, the driver would be constantly leaning backwards and turning their head to see anything out of the extended towing mirrors.

Clearview Towing Mirrors for Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series

Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series Towing Mirror Features explained:
Memory function – 3-position driver’s seat memory. On LC300 Sahara and higher models, your preferred driving position (encompassing the position of the driver’s seat, steering wheel and side mirrors) can be entered into the LC300’s computer memory and recalled with the touch of a button. Three different driving positions can be entered into memory.
Auto-tilting function when reversing. On LC300 GXL and higher models, the side mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing to provide a better view of the ground.
Puddle Lights. Puddle lights illuminate the ground near the car door, providing visibility of puddles or other obstacles when getting into your vehicle. This feature is available on LC300 GXL and higher models.
360° Camera Provision. 360 degree parking system allowing for extra vision of all angles of the vehicle. Located below the mirror head. Camera must be removed from the OEM mirror and installed into your new Clearview Towing Mirrors. Only available for vehicles with pre-existing 360 camera feature.
Power Fold. Clearview Mirrors will electrically fold towards the body of the vehicle when you lock the vehicle, and electrically return to the driving position when you start the vehicle.
Blind Spot Monitoring. Blind Spot Monitoring on GXL and higher models, provides a visual alert of a small indication light on the mirror glass to alert the driver when it detects a vehicle driving in or approaching a blind spot.
Heated Mirrors. When the side mirrors are fogged up, they can be cleared by turning on the rear window demister. This feature is available on LC300 GXL and higher models.
Electric Operating Glass. Clearview Mirrors support vertical and horizontal adjustment of the mirror glass to suit your preferred viewing angles. The single mirror model offers electric adjustment of the mirror and the double mirror models allow for the larger top mirror to be electrically adjusted. The bottom mirror is manually adjusted.
Indicators. Lights on the side of the mirror will flash to notify others that you have intentions to change lanes or turn. Clearview indicator mirror models include clear indicator lenses with amber LED lights. Indicators in all manufactured mirrors are a standard CAT5 indicator. CAT6 indicator models are also available to order – The Clearview CAT-6 LED Indicator is designed to meet the requirements of ADR 6/00.
Clearview Power Boards retractable side steps are also available for the new 300 Series!
Clearview Compact vs. Next Gen – Which Towing Mirrors are Right for You?
Towing a caravan, trailer, or heavy load requires confidence, visibility, and ultimate safety on the road. Clearview’s Compact and Next Gen Towing Mirrors provide excellent solutions, but how do you choose the one that best suits your needs?
Why Invest in Towing Mirrors?
Regular factory mirrors often fall short when it comes to proper visibility while towing. Clearview Towing Mirrors fix this by extending visibility, providing a wider field of view, and eliminating blind spots. They’re not just practical – they’re built tough to handle anything, from off-road adventures to highway cruising.

Compact or Next Gen Mirror Comparison: Common Features of Clearview Compact and Next Gen Mirrors
Before breaking down their differences, both models share some standout features that make them the best Tow Mirror options:
- Telescopic Extension: Extend up to 180mm for a better view while towing and retract back to near factory settings when not needed.
- Double Arm Design: Provides superior stability, minimising vibrations even at high speeds or on rough terrain.
- Vehicle-Specific Engineering: Retain most of your factory mirror functions like blind-spot monitoring, 360-degree camera compatibility, power-fold, and memory adjustment.
- Customisable: Available in black, chrome, and raw finishes to suit your vehicle’s style.
- Spare Parts Access: Easily replace components if something breaks, reducing waste and downtime.
Compact Towing Mirrors
The Compact Mirrors are designed to resemble your factory mirrors while offering improved functionality for towing. Their single convex mirror caters to those who prefer simplicity and a seamless factory aesthetic.
Single Convex Mirror Design
The Compact features a large convex mirror that minimises blind spots and offers a wider viewing angle. It reduces the size of reflected objects, giving you a better view of your surroundings.
Streamlined Look
Designed to look like your factory mirrors, these are perfect for everyday use as well as towing, while keeping a discreet profile.
Ideal For
Drivers who want subtle aesthetics resembling their factory mirrors.

Next Gen Towing Mirrors
Taking functionality to the next level, the Next Gen Mirrors feature a dual mirror setup that provides enhanced visibility through a combination of flat and convex mirrors.
Dual Mirror Design
The large flat top mirror offers a 1:1 reflection – perfect for reversing and accurate distance judgment. The smaller convex mirror underneath provides an expanded field of view, reducing blind spots and helping you track vehicles in adjacent lanes.
Customisable Mirror Glass Options
The top glass comes standard with a flat 1:1 ratio but can be replaced with convex glass for users who prefer consistent visibility across both mirrors.
Ideal For
Drivers who need precise visibility for reversing, hitching, or towing heavy loads.
Those who prefer a slightly larger mirror design with added functionality.
Large top mirror 1:1 ratio. This large, flat mirror provides a narrower field of view, reflecting true distance for reversing. It provides an exact reflection of what’s happening behind you.
The Smaller bottom mirror. This slightly curved mirror makes objects appear further away than they are. The convex mirror reduces the objects that it reflects, allowing the driver to have a much wider field view and diminishing blind spots. This mirror provides a better understanding of what’s happening around the vehicle.

Setup and Adjustment Tips
To maximise the performance of your Clearview Next Gen Mirrors, proper setup and adjustment are key.
Set the Top Mirror (Flat)
Adjust it to give you a clear view of the road behind your vehicle, focusing on lane positioning.
Fine-Tune the Bottom Mirror (Convex)
Use the bottom mirror to eliminate blind spots in adjacent lanes – it should complement the top mirror, not overlap its reflection.
Consider a convex replacement
If the dual mirror design feels overwhelming, consider replacing the flat top glass with a convex one for a uniform view across both mirrors. (Important note: Depending on your vehicle’s registered Category, there may be a legal requirement for a flat mirror glass on the Driver’s side mirror to ensure compliance with ADR 14/02.)

The Clearview Vision
Standard side mirrors often fall short when it comes to providing adequate vision around your vehicle when towing wide loads.
Clearview Towing Mirrors aren’t just ordinary mirrors – they’re engineered to provide extended vision, essential for safe towing and reversing, but also offer a greater awareness of your surroundings, a crucial aspect for overtaking.
In Australia, good rear visibility isn’t just about convenience – it’s a matter of safety and a legal requirement which mandates towing mirrors for anything that exceeds the width of your vehicle.
